Newborn Session on the Beach // Oahu Hawaii Family Photos

Newborn sessions on the beach are one of my favorite things in the world! I absolutely love photographing newborns in a documentary style. Seeing new parents work together and pass their baby, smother them in kisses, and conquer meeting one more need and getting one more night of imperfect sleep at a time… lights a fire for me.

If I wasn’t in photography I would for sure be in birth work. I can’t quite let the two worlds coincide yet… being a mom to four littles and being on call often just doesn’t work for us. Someday when they’re a bit more grown though, let it be known and don’t let it come as a surprise. Newborn photography is for sure the next best thing for me right now!

And especially with this sweet family – our first friends here on Oahu. We moved to the island one week apart from each other and connected in a photography group beforehand. Our first beach trip (across the island from where we both were staying) we ended up just a few feet from each other in the same place. Meredith recognized us sitting by her from the Instagram story I had just posted. How wild and a friendship from the Lord we all absolutely cherish!!!

What’s even more fun is almost exactly a year ago it was our family standing on this beach with our newborn Selah while Meredith photographed us! I love that we got to have a full circle moment, and hopefully bestie girls for life.
